It’s a bit like Woodstock meets Mad Max. Drawing more than 70,000 people annually, Burning Man is a week-long annual event that began in San Francisco’s Baker Beach in 1986 and migrated to the Black Rock Desert in northern Nevada, in the United States. Attendees gather to create Black Rock City, a temporary metropolis dedicated to community, art, self-expression, and self-reliance. They depart one week later, having left no trace whatsoever. At Burning Man, creativity is everywhere. Leave your money at home, because the entire economy is based on gifting. Here’s an article from an attendee at this year’s event held August 30 – September 7, 2015.
